target antigens for perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies in iranian patients with ulcerative colitis

چکیده
background: patients with ulcerative colitis (uc) carry autoantibodies such as perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (p-anca). objective: the aim of the present study was to evaluate the target antigens for p-anca in iranian patients with uc. methods: p-anca target antigens including elastase, lactoferrin, cathepsin g, myeloproxidase, lysozyme, and bactericidal permeability increasing protein (bpi) were determined in 113 patients with uc using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa). results: 59.2% of the patients were positive for at least one antigen and p-anca directed against lactoferrin, elastase, lysozyme, cathepsin g, bpi, and myeloproxidase in 31.5%, 25.9%, 8.3%, 7.4%, 5.6%, and 0% of the patients, respectively. conclusion: the highest prevalence of p-anca was observed against lactoferrin and elastase. also, myeloproxidase was not an antigen for p-anca among our patients.

Background: Mycobacterium tuberculosis is a major cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Infection with this bacterium is known to induce the development of autoantibodies of which a few are also known to be diagnostic markers for some other diseases. Antineutrophil Cytoplasmic Antibodies (ANCA's) are among those autoantibodies used in clinical setting for diagnosing systemic vasculitic sy...

antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoanibodies (anca) were detecte in patients with certain autoimmune vascular disease such as wegner’s granulomatosis, polyarthrits nodosa and systemic luuc erythematous. indirect immunofluorescence (iif) technique was employed to detec these autoantibodies.anca have been recently detected in some forms of inflammatory bowel disease (ibd), ulcerative colitis (u.c). c...

AIMS To study the effect of proctocolectomy on the antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) titres in association with ulcerative colitis. METHODS Serum samples were taken from 15 patients with ulcerative colitis immediately before and at a mean of 24 months after proctocolectomy. Indirect immunofluorescence for ANCA and enzyme immunoassays for myeloperoxidase and proteinase-3 antibodies we...
متن کاملSoluble interleukin-2 receptors, antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies, and other autoantibodies in patients with ulcerative colitis.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is an inflammatory bowel disease of unknown aetiology. In this study, serum samples from 80 patients with UC were studied for the presence of various autoantibodies and soluble interleukin-2 receptor molecules (sIL-2Rs) in an attempt to determine the degree of activation of the immune system in this disease process. Autoantibodies detected included rheumatoid factors (in...

Background: Inflammatory bowel disease unclassified (IBDU) is considered to be an aberrant immune response with loss of tolerance to many antigens. Objective: This paper tries to address whether there is any value to test for auto-antibodies in such patients. Methods: 60 patients with inflammatory bowel disease unclassified participated in the study. Auto-antibodies to nuclear antigen, intestin...
